Comments: Introduced to the Nong Tong and Tha Ngone fish farms in Vientiane, Lao PDR by the Mekong Secretariat with funding from the government of The Netherlands. Found in Ban Hang Khone, a village on an island in the middle of the mainstream Mekong River just below the Great Khone Waterfalls in Khong District, Champasak Province (Ref. 37767). Also introduced from India. Does not breed in natural water bodies (Ref. 58867). Established (Ref. 37767).
