Diagnosis |
Similar to Allomogurnda insularis and Allomogurnda Montana, but it differs from these two species in usually possessing 16 pectoral rays (vs. usually 14), although the holotype is anomalous, having only 14 rays. Can be separated from Allomogurnda insularis by the absence of bold dark bands on the head, presence of dense spots on caudal fin, and absence of a small pale spot on the upper pectoral-fin base. Can be further differentiated from Allomogurnda montana by having a yellow rather than white margin on the dorsal fins, denser spotting on the caudal fin, and a wide, diffuse blue-grey stripe along the middle of the side (Ref. 77038). Description: transverse scale rows 11-12; zigzag scale rows on caudal peduncle 9 (Ref. 77038). |
