Distinguished from Coreoperca kawamebari in having more than 50 lateral line perforated scales (vs. less than 50) and shallower body (body depth 28.3% - 31.9% SL (vs.43.5% SL). Difers from Coreoperca herzi in having a serrated (vs. non-serrated) posteroventral edge of the suboperculum, and more than 10 (vs. fewer than 10) anal-fin branched rays. Can be diagnosed from Coreoperca whiteheadi by having a shallower body (body depth 28.3%-31.6% vs. 33.5%-39.1% SL) and smaller eye (diameter 4.6%-5.6% vs. 6.6%-8.5% SL) (Ref. 95083). |
