Diagnosis: lateral line always incomplete with 6-7 pored scales; 4.5 scales above lateral line; 25-28 lateral line scales; 13-14 anal fin branched rays; 12 gill rakers on lower limb of first gill arch (Ref. 2880, 81279). Description: big eyes (Ref. 2880). Anal fin with 3 unbranched and 13-14 branched rays; very pronounced sexual dimorphism affecting anal-fin shape in adult males (Ref. 2880, 81279). Coloration: narrow longitudinal band on sides, more distinct on posterior hal fof body; dorsal fin black-tipped (Ref. 2880, 81279). |
