Males dark brown to greyish brown, females lighter with narrow bars and mottling on body (Ref. 43716). Head somewhat compressed, profile pointed; TRB 13-17; predorsal scales 17-25, small, and extending forward almost to behind eyes; sensory papillae on head occasionally forming multiple rows on cheeks (Ref. 43716). Caudal fin truncate to rounded posteriorly (Ref. 43716).
