Diagnosis

This is characterized by the following features: rostral fold covered sparsely with weakly developed papillae, shallowly indented distal margin; median lobe of lower lip with anterior half of ring-like fold papillated; tubercle on the tip of the snout and anterior portion of lachrymal is tiny, short, conical with blunt tips; dorsal fin short, length 21.8-23.4 % SL; dorsal-fin origin equidistant from tip of snout and caudal-fin base; absence of a black blotch on middle interradial membranes between branched dorsal-fin rays; snout short, length 42.5-47.7 % of HL (Ref. 74947).
