Body oblong (Ref. 43281), body depth 2.8-3.1 times in SL; depth of caudal peduncle 1.1-1.3 times in its length; shorter dorsal fin (length of stiff part of last simple dorsal ray less than half of body depth at dorsal-fin origin in large specimens; the yellow and black pattern on the caudal fin more contrasted (Ref. 27732).
