Marine; reef-associated; depth range 0 - 14 m (Ref. 5316). Tropical
Western Central Pacific: endemic to northern Australia, from Western Australia to Queensland and McCluer Island, Northern Territory.

Maturity: Lm 5.3, range 5 - 5.5 cm
Max length : 6.8 cm SL male/unsexed; (Ref. 5316)
Found in inshore waters. Benthic species (Ref. 75154). Specimens have been taken from a coral knoll and from reefs. Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205). The males carry the eggs in a brood pouch which is found under the tail (Ref. 205). Males may be mature at about 5-5.5 cm SL.
