Etymology: Platydoras: Greek, platys = flat + Greek, doras = skin (Ref. 45335); brachylecis: Derived from the Greek 'brachy', meaning short, and 'lekis', meaning plate or dish. This is in reference to the relatively shallow midlateral scutes.
