Etymology: sasakii: 'sasakii', i.e., named in honor of Dr. Kunio Sasaki (Ref. 130198).

Has similar identifying characteristics with its congeners J. carouna, J. heterolepis, and J. macrorhynus but is most similar to J. heterolepis (Ref. 130198).
