Etymology: Heteromormyrus: Greek, heteros = other + Greek mormyros = a kind of fish similar to Boops sp. (Ref. 45335); dolichorhynchus: Name 'dolichorhynchus' from the Greek words 'dolicho' and 'rhynchos', meaning 'elongated or long' and 'beak or snout', in reference to the unique elongate head of the new species.
