Dorsal soft rays (total): 80 - 85; Anal soft rays: 60 - 65. The species described from a juvenile have few morphometric characters with some meristic characters that are approximations. It is distinguished by the following set of characters that seems to be diagnostic: D 80-85, A 60-65, pectoral-fin rays 21; precaudal vertebrae 37, total vertebrae 84; long rakers on anterior gill arch 29. Remains of a broken fang laterally on vomer and peritoneum transparent (Ref. 121928).
