Characterized by having no hump before dorsal fin, with small teeth on the outmost patches of the lower jaw small, and 5 scale rows above the lateral line; no teeth on tongue; snout length in horizontal orbit diameter 1.2; distance anus to anal-fin origin 28.1-31.0; lower-jaw symphysis without projections (Ref. 123109).
It is found on the continental slope, at depths of 330 (Ref. 95095), to 485 meters (Ref. 123109). The largest specimen observed was 21.13 cm, standard length (Ref. 95095).
