Etymology: Lagocephalus: Greek, lagos = hare + Greek, kephale = head (Ref. 45335).
Issue
The specific epithet is spelled guntheri in Eschmeyer (CofF ver. Jul. 2010: Ref. 84883) that recommends however to change in guentheri, which we follow here.
