Collected from a black-water swamp. Occurs in association with other fish which include Nannostomus marginatus Eigenmann, 1909, N. trifasciatus Steindachner, 1876, Carnigiella strigata (Günther, 1864), the dwarf cichlids Laetacara fulvipinnis Staeck & Schindler, 2007 and Apistogramma uaupesi Kullander, 1980 (Ref. 94599).
