Marine; demersal; oceanodromous (Ref. 51243); depth range 100 - 200 m (Ref. 3611). Tropical; 33°N - 16°S, 79°W - 5°W
Western Central Atlantic: Bermuda and Jamaica. Eastern Atlantic: St. Helena Island.

Max length : 30.0 cm TL male/unsexed; (Ref. 3611)
Found in the vicinity of oceanic islands (Ref. 6945). Adults occur near the bottom in depths of 100 to 200 m; young are found near the surface. Feeds on larger zooplankton (Ref. 3611).
