Freshwater; pelagic. Tropical
Africa: upper Lulua (Kasai drainage, middle Congo River basin), upper Lomami (middle Congo River basin) and right bank tributaries of the Lualaba River (upper Congo River basin), including the Elila and Luama (Ref. 42032), in Democratic Republic of the Congo. Also reported from Lake Tanganyika (Ref. 42032) but this is unconfirmed in other sources (e.g. Ref. 598, 6770).
