This species is characterized by the following: superior and oblique mouth; body high at the occiput (humpbacked); upper nasal pore slightly posterior to vertical through nostril; with coronal pore; infraorbital canal interrupted posterior to the eye; pores of io 5 + 1 = 6; operciular opening above pectoral-fin base; head 24-25%, anteanal distance around half SL (Ref. 44814).
Occurs in the continental slope (Ref. 7300).
