Ecology
Marine; pelagic-oceanic; oceanodromous (Ref. 51243). Deep-water; 33°S - 46°S
Circumglobal between 33°S and 44°S, but with northern extensions in eastern boundary currents. Recorded from 45°10'S, 69°12'E in the Southern Ocean. Southeast Atlantic: off the coasts of southern Africa (Ref. 4066).

Max length : 13.1 cm SL male/unsexed; (Ref. 5182)
Oceanic and mesopelagic (Ref. 4066). Taken as prey by hakes, kingklip and Cape horse mackerel (Ref. 36731). Found mainly deeper than 500 m during the night, but juveniles in upper 100 m.
