Short description Morfología | Morfometría

Espinas dorsales (total): 1; Radios blandos dorsales (total): 49-53; Espinas anales 0; Radios blandos anales: 38 - 43; Vértebra: 56 - 59. Gill membranes fused ventrally to isthmus. Shoulder with an ocellated, black, eye-sized spot. Lateral line short with 9.7 (6-14) pored scales.

Found in intertidal pools to 3 m. Feeds mainly on crustaceans. Eggs with cruciform hooks on the surface.
