Description synthétique Morphologie | Morphométrie

Épines dorsales (Total): 4 - 6; Rayons mous dorsaux (Total): 9-12; Épines anales 1; Rayons mous anaux: 18 - 22. This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: D IV (III–V) + I,10 (9-12); A I,20 (18-22); gill rakers on lower limb of first arch 14 (11-17); dorsal and anal fins are elongated in adult males, tips reaching base of caudal fin. Colouration: no dark margins of the scales, reflective blue shine of the body, solid midlateral stripe with no color disruptions (Ref. 130430).

Found in a small rainforest creek crossing the road from Meyado to the village of Jakora. The collection site with water dark with tannin. Its typical habitats were characterized by muddy substrate and without submerged aquatic vegetation. It was recorded in undisturbed habitats that are partially covered by forest canopy, and in disturbed sites open to sunlight. Water parameters were 26.4 °C, 30 uS, pH 6.4, with hardness below measurability. The only associated fish species was another unidentified Melanotaenia sp. (Ref. 130430).
