Teeth are developed on the central portion of the tongue but not on its edges (Ref. 31632).
Body shape (shape guide): fusiform / normal.
A mesobenthic-pelagic species living mainly above the bottom (Ref. 31632). Found on or near continental slopes and seamounts (Ref. 559).
