পৃষ্ঠীয় কাঁটা (মোট ): 7; পৃষ্ঠীয় নরম পাখনা দন্ড (মোট ): 12-13; পায়ূ কাঁটা 1; পায়ূর নরম পাখনা্তুন্ড: 10 - 12. Head and body with two black stripes, one middorsal and one lateral, the two separated by a narrow bright yellow stripe which commences on upper part of eye; all three stripes continuing into caudal fin (Ref. 13442).

Occurs in groups near coral heads (Ref. 9710). Picks external parasites found on other fishes (Ref. 13628). Monogamous (Ref. 52884).
