背棘 (总数): 0; 背的软条 (总数): 89-99; 臀棘 0; 臀鳍软条: 69 - 79. Similar to P. gigantea but differs from it by a small mouth (3.3.to 3.9 times in head length), few scales on the lateral line, few pectoral rays, and pale snout and jaws.
类似 P. gigantea 但是不同之处为一个小的嘴 (3.3. 到 3.9 倍头长) ，鳞片较少在侧线，少数胸鳍鳍条与灰白的吻与颚。
Inhabits sandy mud bottoms (Ref. 11230).
