Short description Chiavi di identificazione | Morfologia | Morfometria

Vertebre: 38 - 40. Diagnosed from its congeners by having the following characters: body naked, without scales except for lateral line scales; 11-42 pored lateral line scales, ending between pelvic fin origin and anal fin origin; caudal fin moderately forked; mouth subterminal (Ref. 59043).

Biologia     Glossario (es. epibenthic)

Occur in lowland water bodies, with little current (Ref. 26100). Inhabit streams with clear water and enter subterranean karstic waters during winter or droughts. Spawn in shallower parts of streams where females probably lay 2-3 portions of eggs. Threatened due to pollution, habitat destruction and introduction of exotic species; limited data suggest that its decline in the last 10 years is likely to continue due to water abstraction and introductions of exotic species (Ref. 59043).

Estimates based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.6250   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.00832 (0.00383 - 0.01808), b=3.10 (2.93 - 3.27), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this (Sub)family-body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trophic level (Ref. 69278):  2.9   ±0.1 se; based on size and trophs of closest relatives
Resilienza (Ref. 120179):  Medio, tempo minimo di raddoppiamento della popolazione 1.4 - 4.4 anni (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (10 of 100).
