ေက်ာဘက္တြင္ရွိေသာ ေရယက္၌ပါေသာ အမွ်င္မ်ား (စုစုေပါင္း) : 11 - 12; စအိုနားတြင္ရွိျပီး နူးညံ့ေသာေရယက္အမွ်င္မ်ား: 10 - 12. Small pearly spots on side (Ref. 26938). Body shape (shape guide): elongated.
Prefers grassy bays, canals and nearby fresh water, avoiding tidal flats. Also found in marginal fresh waters. 18 cm max TL (Ref. 7251). Not a seasonal killifish. Is difficult to maintain in aquarium (Ref. 27139). Feeds on small crustaceans and other invertebrates (Ref. 26938).
