Body shape (shape guide): elongated.
Occurs in swift gravel and sand riffles and runs of medium-sized rivers (Ref. 5723). Feeds on snails, limpets and immature aquatic insects, particularly caddisfly larvae and mayfly nymphs (Ref. 10294).
