Espinhos dorsais (total) : 8; Raios dorsais (total) : 9; Espinhos anais: 2; Raios anais : 8. Caudal peduncle deep and long. Caudal fin small. Has 7 spines in first dorsal fin and general color of fish is yellowish brown with silvery speckles (Ref. 48635).
Post-larvae were collected from the branches of Pocillopora damicornis at a depth of 18 m in Apra Harbor, Guam.
