Eponymy: Dr Walter Abbott worked with Charles Dawson at the Gulf Coast Research Laboratory. Dawson said in his etymology: “…I take pleasure in naming this species after my colleague, Dr. Walter Abbott, who assisted in the collection of the type series.” (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
