This species is distinguished by the following characters: branchiostegal rays 7; interdigitating ceratohyal-epihyal articulation; reduced palatal arch , posterior hyomandibular ramus longer than anterior, narrow cranium; no supratemporal commisure and occipital pores (Ref. 79065).
