Description synthétique
Clés d'identification | Morphologie | Morphométrie
Rayons mous dorsaux (Total) : 9; Rayons mous anaux: 7; Vertèbres: 31 - 32. Can be diagnosed from all members of the Rasbora trifasciata-group by having male cephalic tubercles conical, relatively slender, and tall, with the tubercle base higher than the skin surface and the epithelial cells bearing microridges. Can be further distinguished from other members of R. trifasciata-group in northwestern Sumatra by the following combination of characters: cranial superficial neuromasts having basal plate confluent with the skin surface with no peripheral structure surrounding it; first infraorbital (lachrymal) without a posterodorsal process and with a relatively straight dorsal margin; uniformly pigmented lachrymal region; absence of a dorsomedial branch of the supraorbital canal; an axial streak extending forward and terminating in the area between the verticals through the dorsal-fin origin and the pelvic-fin insertion; the cephalic tubercles only in males; the pigmented opercular flap; a transverse scale count anterior to the dorsal-fin origin and pelvic-fin insertion of K4/1/2K; 12 scales around caudal peduncle; a basal reticulation pattern comprised of a network of welldeveloped parenthesis-shaped bars on the midlateral surface
of the body; a maximum vertical coverage of the basal reticulation by three and a half longitudinal scale rows; the posteriorly unpigmented lateral-line scale series; and the
pelvic-fin rays i,7-8 (Ref. 85846).
Body shape (shape guide): fusiform / normal.
Occurs sympatrically with Rasbora api, R. jacobsoni, and R. cf. sumatrana (Ref. 94947).
