Etymology: Corymbophanes: Greek, korymbos = summit, cluster of fruits and flowers + Greek, phaino = to shine (Ref. 45335); ameliae: in the late 19 th century (Ref. 130535).
Eponymy: Amelia was a Patamona Amerindian girl who disappeared near Amaila Falls, Guyana, in the late 19th century. The falls are named after her although her name was spelled incoreectly. The species occurs near these falls. (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
