Etymology: Ectodus: Greek, ek = from, of, out + Greek, odous = teeth (Ref. 45335).
Eponymy: Captain Georges Descamps was a Belgian officer who was prominent in the fight against slave traders in East Africa. He was captain and commandant of the Belgian antislavery movement at Lake Tanganyika. He obtained the type and sent it to Boulenger. (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
