পৃষ্ঠীয় কাঁটা (মোট ): 12; পৃষ্ঠীয় নরম পাখনা দন্ড (মোট ): 12-13; পায়ূ কাঁটা 2; পায়ূর নরম পাখনা্তুন্ড: 12 - 13; কশেরুকা : 26. Body depth 1.9-2 in SL; preserved color dark brown, the body and median fins posterior to vertical at base of 6th dorsal soft ray pale yellowish (white in life); semicircular darker brown spot (black in life) at base and axil of pectoral fins. Upper and lower spiniform procurrent caudal rays 2; upper and lower 2 branched caudal rays filamentous and very long. Tubed lateral line scales 15. Margin of subopercle free to below rear margin of pupil (Ref. 39287).
Collected from rocky bottom (Ref. 39287). Diurnal species (Ref. 54980). Oviparous, distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205). Eggs are demersal and adhere to the substrate (Ref. 205). Males guard and aerate the eggs (Ref. 205).
