Taggstrålar i ryggfenan (totalt): 12; Mjukstrålar i ryggfenan (totalt): 12-13; Taggstrålar i analfenan 2; Mjukstrålar i analfenan: 12 - 13; Ryggkotor: 26. Body depth 1.9-2 in SL; preserved color dark brown, the body and median fins posterior to vertical at base of 6th dorsal soft ray pale yellowish (white in life); semicircular darker brown spot (black in life) at base and axil of pectoral fins. Upper and lower spiniform procurrent caudal rays 2; upper and lower 2 branched caudal rays filamentous and very long. Tubed lateral line scales 15. Margin of subopercle free to below rear margin of pupil (Ref. 39287).
