Adults inhabit rocky pools, sometimes runs, of headwaters, creeks, and small rivers. Often occurs among filamentous algae (Ref. 86798). They feed mainly on algae and other plants (Ref. 5723). Migratory behaviour is undetermined (Ref. 126106).
